![]() ![]() Subscribe to my free weekly content round-up newsletter, God Rolls. But hey, whatever, do what you want, marketing guys.įollow me on Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and Instagram. All of this other high budget, celebrity-filled stuff feels superfluous. Diablo 4 was going to sell itself on hype for the decade-anticipated game alone and the game being actually good, which it is. They also had a Chloe Zhou-directed live action trailer for Diablo 4, where I saw someone deem it her “Tár” moment (the four people reading this who have seen Tár will get this reference).Īll of this just does not strike me as terribly wise spending. Again, it’s fine it just doesn’t seem terribly necessary? But sure, if Activision wants to drop millions on this, it ain’t my money, that’s for sure. ![]() I guess SUGA was added at some point for bonus star power. ![]() This video has been a long time coming, as Halsey performed Lilith back at last year’s Game Awards. It’s not like it’s bad, it’s just…confusing? It has to be a massive marketing budget sink, given the cash it would take to land these two artists and make this song and video. Why does…this exist? I genuinely have no idea. SUGA references “hell” at one point, but it’s very much a song that could just be a normal single if you didn’t know there was supposed to be any actual connection to Diablo 4. So I mean, yes, there are thematic similarities to some elements of the story of Diablo and Lilith’s control over the corrupted populace. You’ve got me feeling like I been too meanĭo it like nothing, I am disgusting, I’ve been corruptedĪnd by now I don’t need help to be destructive ![]()
